VIDEOMETER (https://videometer.com/https://videometer.com/) is a world leading provider of spectral imaging technology, machine learning and AI software for the analysis of a broad range of products, established in Denmark. The UNIPV Team Member Conrado Jr. Duenas has been working with the Videometer instruments at Aarhus University, hosted by Dr. Fiona Hay to assess the potential of these advanced tools in providing hints useful to predict the best performing biopriming formulations applied to orphan legume seeds. The results of this collaborative study, which also includes the Agricultural Universiy of Athens and the Benaki Phytopathological Institute from Greece, as well as the Team of the University of Sfax (Tunisia), have been recently published in Scientific Reports (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-026-46096-7). This article has been now presented and disseminated by the VIDEOMETER company as “a great example of how imaging technology can support plant science”. The approach used by the BENEFIT-Med Teams shows how the VideometerLab equipment can be really a break-through vehicle able to mitigate the “trial and error system” often used in this context. Take a look at this dissemination article at the VIDEOMETER link: https://videometer.com/news/how-multispectral-imaging-supports-biopriming-research/. These promising outputs pave the way to novel challenges focused on the valorization of orphan legumes, and they will be further expanded and validated in the frame of the PROSPER (https://www.prosper-horizon.eu/) and FORECAST (https://www.forecast-project.eu/) projects. Thank you to VIDEOMETER for supporting our work!!!
