The BENEFIT-Med Teams are now finalizing their analyses of the grass pea, forage pea and fenugreek seeds harvested from the Italian field trial. They are using many different tools to dissect seed quality, including metabolomics and ionomics. It seems that each treatment (hydropriming, biopriming, and hybrid priming) is able to trigger significant changes in the composition of the harvested seeds, particularly as concerns specific antioxidant compounds and valuable mineral nutrients. The VideometerLab equipment has been also used to obtain the Multi-Spectral Image profiles of the tested seeds, thanks to the careful and passionate work performed by Jacopo Allevi at Aarhus University, hosted by Dr. Fiona Hay.
